A Cognitive Behavioural Therapist can help you to identify and change your unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, with the aim of improving the way you feel and live your life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy which aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and cognitions. It is a goal-orientated, systematic procedure that works in the present. CBT has a significant evidence base showing effectiveness for many psychological problems. The list below gives some examples of the types of disorders our service offers CBT for:

  • Moderate to severe depression
  • Complex anxiety problems
  • Social anxiety
  • Post traumatic stress problems
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder

Together with a CBT therapist you will be able to look at how changing what you do and how you think can improve the way you feel.

You can read about one of our client’s experience of CBT on the BBC website: CBT & Me: Learning to live with my dark thoughts.
